My name is Jim Schreiner, ASM with Troop 207. My sincere condolences to your family. I got to know Kevin through the WOODBADGE course in 2012. Loss of life is painful especially at a young age. Please take some solitude in knowing that he is remembered fondly in scouting community.

Kev was a good friend growing up not just to me, but to our whole family.
My memory of Kev is when we would stand out waiting for the school bus in the morning....He'd be carrying a bunch of books, (yup math books!), a tennis racket and had the whitest sneakers I've ever seen!
Thanks for sharing him with us.

I only knew Kevin for 3 years working with him at Monroe Community College, but wish I could have gotten to know him better. Not only was he an incredible mathematics teacher and tutor, he was also a tremendous colleague and friend. Two years ago, I went through a deeply personal experience and lost my way. The day after this occurrence, I was to hold office hours in the Mathematics Learning Center along with Kevin and he could sense something was wrong. He and I spoke at great length that day and for several months after. He would always offer words of encouragement, support, and bend an ear to what I had to say. He told me that the Lord would not give up on me and that great things were ahead. Kevin was right and I am so blessed to have had the time I got to spend with him. I know he deeply loved his family and friends and they are missing him very much right now. I offer my sincerest condolences to them and say that he is now in a better place and will always offer a light from above.

To Kevin's Family,
I am in shock as I just read about Kevin's sudden passing today. I would have attended his service had I been in town. I worked with Kevin for several years at MCC. What a wonderful, kind, gentle, calm and caring soul. I am the Math Learning Center (MLC) Coordinator at MCC and Kevin was one of our tutors. His presence in the MLC was appreciated by so many students and myself. He often sat in our faculty/student area quietly working as he waited to help his students during office hours. I had the pleasure of observing one of his MTH 165 classes recently and he was a great teacher who cared so much about his students - he even sang a song for them in class to help them remember the quadratic formula. On a personal note - he was always so supportive of me as I suffered the loss of my father three years ago. Kevin donated to my family's Hospice Walk team and that touched my heart deeply. We would often chat in the MLC or in the halls about my dad and his brother. My husband and I happened to run into Kevin and his wife one day recently in Kohls. I am glad my husband got to meet him, if only for a moment, and I am glad I met his wife. Kevin will surely be missed by many. My heart is heavy with sorrow and I will remember Kevin and his family in my prayers.
Such a terrific picture of Kevin.
May his reward in heaven be great.

Kevin brought out the best in people. He did so by being an intense listener. He was patient. He would catch others in the act of doing something right. Then he would positively reinforce it.
We can all do well to carry on his legacy in this, and other virtues.
May the Source of all comfort, consolation and peace grant all these things in aandance to all who knew him in this time of grief.
May his memory shine on in the lives of all he touched.

I knew Kevin through MCC, as a fellow faculty member, and also having gone riding with him a number of times, including the Tour de Cure when it was hosted by the college. His shared office was just down the hall from mine, and I saw him often over the past year. He always impressed me as a gentle, kind soul who worked hard for his students, and really enjoyed the outdoors. I was jolted and saddened at hearing of his passing, and am certain he'll be missed by a large number of people. It seems he lived his life in a full manner, and was a positive influence in many ways. I will miss him.
With deep sympathy,

I am very sorry for your sudden and tragic loss. Before I retired from the MCC Math Department, Kevin and I would occasionally share Scouting stories. I haven't seen him as much in the past few years, but just a few weeks ago we met again at Massawepie and Kevin told me that he was now Scoutmaster of the troop. He looked like he was having a good time with the Scouts. Kevin's passing will be a great loss both to MCC and to Scouting, as well as to your family.

An assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 209, I served with Kevin to help scouts plan and deliver programs and activities and to grow as young men. Kevin demonstrated a passionate dedication and commitment to all he did in the troop and for the scouts. We did not always agree on every topic, but we talked things out and always kept the boys' best interests and welfare as our guiding light. I valued how much Kevin cared about the scouts and found it an inspiration to my growth and role as an adult leader. I am saddened that there will not be a chance to co-lead the troop with Kevin as Scoutmaster, to witness the plans and visions he had for the new scout year. However, I know we all will draw on our memories of Kevin and his love for scouting and the outdoors, as we move forward in our scouting journey together. I know we all will miss Kevin. I offer my prayers of peace and love to his family.

I am very sorry to hear about his death. I unfortunately barely knew Kevin thru Boy Scouting. What I will miss about him is his enthusiasm about the outdoors, youth in scouting & curling. My last conversation w/him was telling him to come back down to R.C.C. to be my guest on a Fri. night during curling season & buying him a beer :-) .Sad to know I will not be able to try working on him again this season. I am very sorry for your loss :-(.. He's curling w/ God now! - Valerie

As you and the kids walk this incredibly difficult road ahead, I pray that God's strength, His peace and love will surround you everyday.

Dear Krueger family,
My deepest sympathies are with you at this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of working with Kevin in the Mathematics Department at Monroe Community College for many years. He was always so kind, polite, and interesting to talk to. Kevin and I both enjoyed sharing our involvement in scouting, his with Boy Scouts, and mine with Girl Scouts. We would occasionally discuss our troops' activities and share field trip ideas with each other for our scout troops as we passed in the halls or while waiting for the photocopiers to process our jobs. I was able to sit in on his statistics class one day. He sure gave his students an extremely well-prepared lesson, and it was clear there was great mutual respect between him and his students. He was a strong asset to our department. Kevin will be missed.
