Obituary of Dorothy P. Lembach

Dorothy Phelan Lembach of Penfield died peacefully in her sleep on October 15, 2009 at age 92. She led a long and happy life as the beloved wife for almost 60 years of John Lembach Sr., who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her brother, Phillip Phelan and sister, Frances Brown. Dorothy raised six children who survive her, including John Jr. (Joanne), James (Norma), Stephen, David (Kathy), Richard (partner Taisuke Soda) and Suzanne (Mark) Northrup; sister, Margaret (Robert) Pearson; nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a native Rochesterian who enjoyed nearly 20 golden years as a snowbird in Bradenton FL. She was the family matriarch over a clan that also included seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, all of whom she loved dearly. A resident of Penfield since 1961, she resided for seven years with her many wonderful friends at the Willow Pond Legacy. Dorothy will be missed by all for many things, but especially for her friendly and easygoing personality, quick Irish wit and propensity to laugh. Friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy,s Funeral Mass on Monday, October 19th, 10:ooam at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
