Don was my son's first busdriver and he loved riding with him. I'm also one of the Penfield drivers and loved working with him. I always loved seeing him on St. Patricks Day and those shamrock pants always put a smile on my face. I'm going to miss him. My prayers are with you and your family.

To the Luke Family.
My deepest sympathy to you all. I will never forget your father ( corky ).
He had the strongest hands of anyone I have ever met. I remember being told a story about how he didnt have a baseball glove and used his hands as a catcher, true grit at its finest. He threw me a ball one day in your yard while Dave and I where playing catch, I had to try it with out a glove, I will never forget the sting. I will always have respect for him and envy the way he raised and represented his family, a true father and husband. A role model for sure. My sincere sympathy to you all. I regret I cant be there in person, I will be in touch with you soon.
With Love
Edward, Sarah, renae, and Holly Embrey

We were so sorry to hear about Porky/Don. I can remember the good times we all had at all of the fireman functions. Every time I saw him he would always be smiling and then giving you a big hug. He wont be alone, now he has uncle Red,Bomber and uncle Spider to keep him
company. We will keep
you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Don was a good friend and fellow graduate class of '49. "Porky" as we all called him back then was a great basketball player, fun to be around and just an all around good guy. God bless Diane and family.

My memories of Mr. Luke are, always smiling, always happy, and full of life and love for those around him. I will always picture him at the Penfield fourth of July parade marching proudly with the firemen, and ladies, and always stepping out of stride for a sip of cold beer from our gathering of friends and family. My heart goes out to his wonderful wife and family...we will all miss him... Love Julie, Gina, Nick, Vinny and Heidi

To me, Mr. Luke was like a father. He taught me about respecting others, especially how to treat my wife. I can only hope that my marriage will be as fulfilling as his was. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Luke Family. I love ya Pork!

I worked with Don driving bus for a little over a year. Don was always a caring man. He always smiled, and a great person to work with. I will miss him dearly. To Diane, when we had a party for him at the Roadhouse, you could see the friends that he had. He will be missed. My prayers are with you all, we will never forget him.

I was so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I asked Maddy at school on a regular basis how he was doing. I know that this is a hard time for you and your family but hang on to all that makes you smile about Don. My favorite memories are of Don (Mr. Luke) at the carnivals and parades. He was always so nice to me. I always thought that you were all very lucky to have him as you are to have your mom, Diane. Blessings to all.
Love, Robin
