Obituary of Hervey Paul Gauvin

Hervey Paul Gauvin Penfield: January 11, 2009 at age 90. Predeceased by his son, Peter. Mr. Gauvin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen; his daughter, Sharon (Philip) Burke; 3 grandchildren, Caitlin, Julie and Stephen Burke. Mr. Gauvin was a faith-filled man who was devoted to his family, his faith and science. He was a graduate of Brown University and also studied at Columbia and MIT. After being drafted into the US Army, he was assigned to work on the Manhattan Project as a nuclear physicist. He was retired from the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratory. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd. Tuesday, 3-7 PM. Mr. Gauvin's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd., Penfield. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery.
