Obituary of Valerie M. Palumbos

Valerie M. Palumbos Irondequoit: January 9, 2009. Entered into eternal rest after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease during which time she was compassionately cared for by the staff at the Fairport Baptist Homes and lovingly supported by family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Edward L. Palumbos, who died in 1985. Val is survived by her 4 sons, Rev. Edward "Skip", Marty (Maureen), Bob (Cherie) and Kevin; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Cecilia's Church for 55 years. Val had a variety of leadership positions in her church and community and was known for her determination and administrative skills. Val was an accomplished seamstress, providing vestments for many priests in the Diocese of Rochester. Friends may call Sunday 2:00-7:00 PM at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd. (Off 441 near Panorama Trail), 381-3900. Val's Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 11:15 AM at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave. in the Village of Fairport.
