It is with great sadness that I heard of Joanne’s passing. We shared a lot of stories and recipes in the office we shared at St. Ann’s! She loves her family fiercely and this was Joy she shared regularly - with stories of love and support - especially of her nieces!
Her biscotti were amazing and I was always thrilled she saved the ends(my favorite) for me! (Actually anything she made was amazing!)
I will miss her sharp wit and great smile!
So very sorry for your loss!
Angel V.

I had the pleasure of being on Joanne's interview team when she applied for a social worker position at Highland Hospital years ago. We knew right away that she would be a great fit for our geriatric unit and she was off and running! She was a delight to work with and everyone loved her baked goods! She and I often talked about baking and exchanged recipes. She will be greatly missed by all of us that knew her. God Bless.

Joanne was one of the best at what she did. It was always a pleasure working with her on West four. I especially enjoyed when she brought in her delicious baked goods. Knowing that she came from Hornell, I would joke with her about needing a translator when we had a patient from that area. She called me an ass.

I am so saddened to hear of Joanne’s passing. We worked many years ago at Hill Haven. It was a time when we were very dedicated to our residents, coworkers and proud of the work we did. Joanne would have us to her home where we made cookies (heath) her favorite, and we ventured into hot sauce! And 50 years later it is still a fond memory. Bless you Joanne, rest in peace.

I was fortunate to work with Joanne at Highland Hospital for 5 years. She taught me patience, compassion, and the art of empowering others. All that I have gained throughout the privilege of her mentorship (however informal) is immeasurable against the wisdom lost with her. Wishing her family peace in the wake of this tragedy.
