Diane Bayer Obituary

Diane (DiBenedetto) Bayer, 77, of Penfield NY passed peacefully on July 25, 2024 at her home. She was surrounded by family and friends throughout her ongoing fight with cancer and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Diane was born in Rochester, NY on May 26, 1947, to the late Frank and Rose DiBenedetto. Di was the loving wife to her husband of 57 years, Stephen; beloved mother to Kris (Deni) and the late Tiffany Lill (Jim). Di was the very proud grandmother to John Stephen Bayer (Alesha), Lucas Brandt Bayer, Payton Lill, Joshua Kristen Bayer and James Lill, and loving sister to Alana DeCarlo and the late Frank DiBenedetto (Angela), as well as a large and wonderful extended family.

Di was completely dedicated to her family throughout her life. You could always count on her to be at a practice or game, supporting her children and grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews. Her love of family shone through in everything she did, as did her dedication to her large, close-knit friend group. Di enjoyed eating out, trivia nights, and spending time in the sun. She was always happiest surrounded by friends and family, and will be missed tremendously by all of the people she touched.

There will be a private family service preceding a celebration of life at Penfield Country Club, 1784 Jackson Road, Penfield, on August 4th from 11-2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Di’s memory to those charities near and dear to her:
