Diane was there to welcome us into the neighborhood and also when our children were born. Loved living opposite them for 29 years. She and Steve were so kind. We do miss her gentle nature, kind smile, and dry sarcasm. Our deep condolences to all the family.

I always loved Di from when I was a little girl. She was always there with a smile and if you needed a hug. I asked her why she married Steve- she just rolled her eyes and said "o honey, you'll find out". I don't know if I ever did? LOL.
I thought my cousin (my moms cousin) Steve's name was Stephen Di (because people always said. "Steve and Di"- so I asked my mom why his name wasn't Bayer? I finally figured it out when I was 4. And that says a lot- because it was always Steve and Di. They were always together, always there for everyone, and loved all of their family and friends. I was so lucky to grow up with all of the Bayers and my cousins Kris and Tiff.
Di was such a wonderful mom and aunt and grandmother, I will always miss her sweet smile and calm demeanor. My thoughts are with you Steve, Kris, and the rest of your family. I'm sure she is up there with Tiffy. Love you all!

My sincere condolences to Alanna and Steve and the rest of the family Chris and all the grandkids. Dian was the best. We had a great time growing up as children as part of five cousins all born in the same year. So many good times. I remembered laying on her living room floor on Ontario Street before she moved to Davis Street Playing beat the clock and just laughing our heads off. I know I haven’t been around much but I will miss her very much. Love Joey G.

This is so terribly sad! She was such a sweet and kind person and always upbeat. I wish we could have continued our lunches together forever. I will always cherish our last luncheon with Jane joining us and the beautiful memories. My heart is broken for Steve and the entire Bayer family, and, of course, Alana.
