Pauline Silco was my cooperating teacher, while I was working on my certification in elementary education at St. John Fisher College in 1984. I spent two days each week in her Harris Hill classroom, from January to May. I learned so much about teaching, working with her. I went on to have my own nearly 40 year career as a teacher in Spencerport, NY. Pauline was one of the first mentors I had, and I will always be grateful for her advice and guidance. May she rest in peace.

Pauline taught all four of my boys. She was the best teacher; funny, kind and patient! I think I begged Marc Nelson to have them assigned to her classroom. I'm so sorry for your huge loss!

I knew Pauline from working with her at Harris Hill. But my fondest memories are of days spent at the baseball field where her husband Ed coached my daughter Izzy as well as their son Jeremy. She and I spent many Saturdays cheering our kids on. Godspeed Pauline.

Mrs. Silco was my 2nd grade teacher and I have fond memories of her classroom. More than 30 years later, I still remember her classroom vividly! Sending prayers❤️

My daughter had Pauline as a teacher when we first moved here from Buffalo and she was wonderful. Such a warm and caring person.

Both of my children had Pauline at Harris Hill. I had the pleasure of helping in the classroom with her, she and I always had fun and a really good laugh. We were similar in our approach to kids in general, be honest, everyone deserved a chance and enjoy what you are learning. I am very saddened at her passing but take comfort in knowing the wonderful influence she had on her students and on me. My sincere condolences to the family for this loss.

I was fortunate to meet Pauline’s nephew, Joe in college, and later become his wife and the mother of his son, Moses.
It was so much fun in the early 2000s when her kids, Eddie, Jake and Jeremy were little. Grace, her sister and best friend and my now mother in law, would cook big meals at Graces old place on Avery Street and we'd all help in the kitchen and the kids would run around. Pauline would laugh and always loved to catch up on what was new in our lives.
The family grew as all of us grew up and started our own families. We would all still gather together, cook a big meal, catch up and reminisce.
I still have the photos uncle Ed took at our wedding. He was thoughtful to take them and print them for Joe and I. What a great day that was.
Pauline was such a thoughtful person. So sweet and kind. And most especially, fun to be around. Especially in the kitchen.

I first met Pauline at Eddie and Michaela's house and felt an instant connection. She had a great sense of humor and definitely doted on the grands. Wishing all of your family comfort and peace during this difficult time. Mary Marks

Mrs. Silco was always one of the most friendly faces as Harris Hill. She always had a kind smile and a listening ear. And she always brought us great snacks for ski team when Eddie and I were on it in high school. She will be greatly missed, but was always cherished!

I grew up with just my brother. I got a sister when Ed married Pauline. She has always been the best sister in-law one could ever ask for. I still can't believe that I will never see her again. I will always love her for her endless love for my brother and her children.

32 years ago, we had the the great fortune of moving into our home, next to the Silco’s. Pauline and Ed became friends, and family to us. We know we’re not unique in that way - they could never have enough friends, and treasure all of them. Pauline took such delight in sharing her life, home and wonderful food with so many. Her gracious, generous, and loving care of everyone was so beautiful. We loved her so much.
