Dear Sherry, I was so sad to learn of Gene's passing. I was privileged to know him. He was a wonderfully gifted man whose love of mathematics, of teaching, and of animals meant that he brought learning and caring to those whose lives he touched. Most importantly, he gave so many years of love and support to you. May his memory be a blessing and bring comfort in the days and months ahead.
