Dearest Kathy , I was crushed when I saw Kent’s picture displayed . I couldn’t stop crying . I’m sorry I didn’t attend his calling hours and service . Kent was real special to Rick and I as well as you are two . After Tick had the stroke many friends did not know how to communicate with Rick as they knew him before so we saw less and less of them . When we started to dance at Wegmans you were both so friendly and introduced us to a new world . We are so gretful to you both . Kent had such a wonderfully friendly spirit and genuine kindness . He will be truly missed ! ❤️

I remember Kent as larger than life. Creative, talented, funny, occasionally ribald, and full of energy and enthusiasm for whatever photo project we worked on together. He was my go-to shooter and one of the best and most engaging photographers I had the good fortune to meet. Whether figuring out how to light a Cyc wall set or shooting a table-top close up, he made it look effortless… and fun… no matter the challenge. Words are inadequate at a time like this, Kathy, but take comfort in knowing how many lives he touched and how those who knew him understand your loss and share your grief. In time, the 56 years of memories will begin to fill the empty place left by his passing.
The attached photo is from one of the many shoots we worked on together. The master image maker at work.
Jappie and I send our condolences.

Kent was a great friend, patron, supporter, Board Member and photographer for the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre for many years. He was also my dear friend. His exuberance for life was unmatched. He lived life as an adventure....and had the stories to prove it. Often in a crowd of entertainers... Kent was the most entertaining. His lust for life and telling a good story was remarkable and memorable. I had the privilege of knowing Kent for over 25 years... and he never ceased to make me laugh... smile... or even groan on occasion from his stories and adventures. He had a knack for telling R rated stories... that were not at all objectionable. He was honest and upfront.... and yet disarming. He could make friends in an instant and could talk to anyone... anywhere, as I recently witnessed at the Texas Road House a few months ago. Kent struck up a conversation with another Veteran... and was soon swapping war stories... and holding court at the dining room of the Texas Road House. People were always eager to hear his stories. I think it just wasn't the stories... but how passionate Kent was in telling them. His affable personality was contagious. His courage and wit.. and humor was off the charts... even in the last week. The world lost a proud veteran, an avid arts supporter, a great, hospitable and eager bartender ( the best Appletinis), Jazz fan, the very definition of a people person....and a great friend to many. I will miss Kent dearly.
