I heard of Dylan‘s passing today. I too will remember his smile and infectious laughter. He was a horrible backgammon player. (hee hee ) but we had fun when he came over to my house and we played for hours. Thank you, Dylan for your companionship.

Dylan gave me a home at a very tough time in my life, and we ended up sharing a deep bond together . He was an extremely intelligent and kind man who had a warm sense of humor that was never mean spirited. I could tell that all of his friends and family loved him , and he brought all of them a lot of joy.
I didn’t know him as long as some of his many life long friends but he made a huge impact on my life and I will never forget him, I will miss him terribly and my heart hurts badly that he is gone.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Dylan was an amazing coworker (Highland) and friend. We shared a make shift garden on our break room window sill. I brought flowers, he brought peppers. I remember one time he was so tickled that a stray asparagus seed got in to a pepper pot and started to sprout. Of course he had to try to grow it and it ended up this ridiculous bunch of huge fronds that almost touched the ceiling. To add to the silliness factor, he put a ceramic figurine of a dinosaur wearing a bowtie in the pot. I smile whenever I see it. We recently had the windows replaced and some of my plants didn’t make it. He made sure to send me an email to warn me so I wouldn’t be surprised or upset. A green thumb and a heart of gold. Rest in peace dear friend.

There are so many memories of this sweet soul. We met at a graduation party twenty some years ago. We became fast friends and had many memories together including renaissance fairs and when he thought giving me a pet snake that escaped in my house was a good idea. I can still hear his laugh and “ Geez Louise!” So much laughter. Until then in the words of Billie Holiday “I’ll be seein you in all the familiar places.” -Katie Decker

Whenever I would get to work and see Dylan, the way he happily said my name and immediately follow it with a terrible dad joke or 2 always made the start to my day better. He was a special person and an amazing friend that I miss so much. There's never been a doubt that his presence made anywhere he was a better and happier place to be and that was a quality of his no one took for granted.
Other than his knowledge of peppers, I think him and I shared a connection with our love of spice! I loved whenever he would make incredibly spicy gummy bears because it became a challenge of how many I could eat until I got a stomach ache, which happened every time. It always seemed like the best part of his day telling everyone he made some spicy new concoction. I learned a lot about pepper gardening from him and that just shows how passionate of a person he was for hobbies and people he loved.
He did and still continues to make everyone's lives brighter through the stories we share and the bonds we all made with him. I know he knows how much he'll be missed.

Dear Jennings Family-
I think it is safe to say that our Highland Laboratory will never be the same. Dylan's giggle will always ring in our ears, his "go bills" phrases and daily corny dad jokes will be sorely missed. As coworkers at Highland, Dylan was a fast friend. He was welcoming and kind to me when I first started as a new employee, patient with me when I was learning and needed guidance, and a great mentor as my experience grew. I can't remember a day where we spoke and didn't talk about our cats or share pictures. The absolute joy on his face when he talked about his cats was contagious, he even shared some cat toys with me on occasion and he would state how his cats loved them so much, so mine would too. One of my favorite memories with him was in the break room at work, it was a warm day a few months ago and Dylan was cleaning out a bowl that had just housed his super spicy salsa. He was coughing a lot, and I was teasing him about it, and he said "It's the spicy fumes!". I walked over to help him, and soon we both sat in the break room, eyes watering, coughing like maniacs because of the hot pepper fumes from the salsa. I will never forget his informative gardening tips, or the countless heads of garlic, freshly made garlic powder, and even homemade bottles of hot sauce Dylan would share with me. His smile, kindness, gentleness, and friendly nature will be missed by all. My sincere condolences.

Dylan is like a brother to me. He will always be that. He has been so instrumental in so many aspects of my life. I couldn't possibly share all blessings he's given me. I will never forget him.
But I know I am not alone. He had a huge friends list, and was loved by most people. Very funny man, very smart, and full of love.
I miss him so much, my heart feels broken.

Dylan was one of the first people at Highland Labs to suggest an after work hangout. He helped organize a wing night and so many people came out. A few years later he talked a few of us into running a race with him at the old Kodak industrial park. Of course he finished way before me, but he was still there when we all finished, to drink water and chat about all the holes in the road. Dylan brought me a tiny bag of cat toys to my birthday party a few years ago, he said his cats had a clear favorite toy, and this was it. To this day those tiny mice are a household favorite of ours. Every time I look out into my back yard I see him convincing us to eat hot peppers and play cornhole, at the same time! His face all red and he's half bent over laughing and trying to aim the beanbag at the board. Everything he ever did brought joy into my world. He was an unmistakable bright spot in every interaction he played a part in. I miss you friend. I will try to be what it was about you, that so many people loved.

I met Dylan when I came to the Highland Hospital Laboratory. What I remember was his love of coffee. He was the first person I ever knew to roast his own coffee. His bad dad jokes, the worse the pun, the more he loved them. He would always help out. whether it was the task at hand or swapping a shift. Of course, that would come with a price- His standard answer was "Five Bucks" I am unable to attend the service, but I will be thinking of him and sending prayers for his family and friends as they face the coming weeks.

Dear Jennings family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Dylan was a beloved friend and colleague. I worked with him at Highland hospital and he would always go above and beyond to make sure that his coworkers were supported. I can recall countless instances where despite him having his own busy assignment he would take on extra tasks and responsibilities to ensure that the shift ran smoothly for everyone. He was also one of the best listeners; when I would go to Dylan for any reason I knew I had his undivided attention, and that I would receive a compassionate response from someone who truly cared. And of course, I will sorely miss our golf outings where I we would constantly laugh at all of his corny jokes, and hear all abut the latest horticultural advances in urban pepper farming:):) He was such a treasure and will miss him dearly.

Dear Mr and Mrs jennings and family.
I had the incredible privilege to meet Dylan running trails several years ago. We ran on weekends and a few of us would discuss our next wild adventures together. Dylan, Tracy , Kim and I ran several races together . He was such a kind soul, so compassionate and positive . He cared so much for people and truly loved his family . He had sweet cats and often shared stories about their goofiness . He loved growing the peppers, would send pics of them . In the years I spent running and getting to know Dylan , he was a gem . As we shared working in healthcare, he valued patient quality of care and was compassionate.
He was one of the most treasured friends and I will miss him deeply . Sending you love . Dylan was a very special person and he has left an imprint on my heart forever .

Dear, dear Betty, Tom, and family,
I am heartbroken to know that your wonderful son, Dylan, has passed on. There is nothing more difficult in life than for parents to lose a child, regardless of age. Last February, our dear son, Scotty, passed on, so we know what it's like. I'll see you October 20th. I'd like to think that Dylan and Scotty are now soaring with the angels...

I am so sorry for your loss!
Dylan was a colleague and a personal friend to many of us at Highland Hospital Laboratories. He was dedicated to his profession and compassionate for patient care. He held high standards and never wavered. As the laboratory director, I had limited interactions with him but when I did it was with a smile. When I met with him, He always started with h personal stories about his cats or kind of peppers I should try. Our conversations always ended with him advocating with ideas of improvement on how we can deliver better patient care. He was always passionate about quality of service we can improve on.
He was natural leader but never seeking leadership roles.
He was a Leader, a colleague mentor, and a friend.
I miss him so much!

Mr. and Mrs. Jennings, Ryan and the entire Jennings family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. I haven’t lived in Rochester long but Dylan was a great friend and coworker. He was always laughing and I looked forward to seeing him walk in the lab with stories about his hot peppers. Dylan was the epitome of professionalism, always putting patients first. He was sweet, honest, soft spoken, and the true definition of a gentleman. He will be missed immensely but I am forever grateful for the short time I got to spend with him. He, Ryan and I had tickets to the Amerks game in November. I am going to the game in honor of Dylan and know he will be there cheering on the Amerks. May Dylan rest in peace and God Bless the Jennings family.
