Obituary of Charles F. Turner
Charles F. Turner, Jr. Irondequoit: November 14, 2008. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edna Schwab Turner. Charles is survived by wife, Virginia; 6 children, James (Connie), Kimberly (Mark) Spangler, Charles (Sondra), John, Jane (Darrin) Evans, Tracy (Marc) Dovi; 5 grandchildren, Kelly, Erin, Madeline, Lily and Spencer; great-grandchild, Christopher.
Charles was the longest serving volunteer member of the St. Paul Blvd. Fire Department with 49 years of service, where he was Past Chief and Commissioner. He was a member of Irondequoit United Church of Christ and an Army Veteran of the Korean Era. Charles was a life-long Irondequoit resident and had a deep love for community and baseball.
The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff at Independent Living for Seniors and to all the aides who took such great care of Charles.
No prior calling. Friends are invited to Charles' Memorial Service at Irondequoit United Church of Christ, 644 Titus Ave. Saturday, November 22 at 10 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the St. Paul Blvd. Fire Association.
