There are so very many memories of Mr. Turner- especially during our high school years with salt potatoes, tons of laughs, and many smiles. I also remember going to the fire station with Jane, Tracy and Mr. Turner, and everyone knew him wherever we went.He often also came into Schallers to visit all of us while we were working, I hope that memories make the entire Turner family strong, much love sent your way. He will be missed.

Chuck was one of my late husband's (Dave Dugan) closest and dearest friends. He was an usher in our wedding party. And I fondly remember the many times we spent with Ginny and him.
I do regret I am not able to attend the Memorial service today. But Ginny and his children are in my prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the entire Turner family. We had many things in common: from the Red Wings, Major leagues (Johnny Oates), Fords from Judge's, a glass of ale. But most important Maddie & Spencer. Chuck, please watch over them from above as we watch over them from here. Be assured of many prayers going your way every time a parade starts in Irondequoit.

I have fond memories of Mr. Turner with his car backed in the driveway with a blue light ready to put on the dash and speed off to a fire when awakened in the middle of the night... his service to the community is an inspiration! Rest in Peace.

One of the great pleasures growing up was picking up the phone and hearing Mr. Turner on the other end saying, "Hey B-Man, get over here and work this game with me!!" Watching a game with Mr. Turner and the Turner Family was truly a joyous experience. Plenty of food, drink and good conversation. I always left feeling fortunate for the experience. I believe Mr. Turner will be enjoying all the games now from "the best seats in the house." Enjoy it Mr. Turner, the view you have is richly deserved.

Chuck was one of the finest men we've ever known. A wonderful welcoming neighbor always willing to give back to his community and watch a good game at the high school or the stadium. Chuck was a very loving father and husband so proud of his family.
He always said "Mr." would be all right and he is. Nay God bless your grieving family.

I am saddened to hear of Past Chief/Past Commissioner Chuck Turner's passing. He was an icon in Monroe County fire service circles, and was a good longtime friend of mine. He was always my senior in this business; now his 49 active years and my 47 active years at North Greece FD. "Chuck" Turner was a "rough and tough" firefighter back in the day when turnout gear was nothing more than a black rubber coat & a metal helmet, and fire engines had open cabs. With that, big fires were just as dangerous and more plentiful than today. He showed a lot of rookies the "ropes" during his nearly five decades on the job, and his family and friends can be very proud of his record. Rest easy old pal. Job well done!

To my father, On friday evening 11/14/08, The Summerville SC Fire Dept. responed to a 911 call on my street for an illness. A huge ladder truck turned down my street, and parked right in front of my home. All the red lights were glowing in the evening darkness. My husband looked at me and said "your Dad has a big way of letting you know he is just fine"! It was a wonderful moment, that ended a very sad day. Love you always Dad!

Mr.Turner will always be remembered in my house as a very thoughtfull man and a guy who loved sports especially baseball. Mr. Turner always treated me like I was part of his family and I will be forever greatful for that. Most of my child hood memories were great ones and were all centered around the Turner household. If we weren't shooting baskets in the driveway, we were going along to a fire or riding in the red mustang with heidi by are sides. And I will always remember that legendary red mustang convertable. He was a true symbol in Irondequoit and everyone knew him and loved him! He will be sadly missed but the great memories of him will live on forever!

I always stopped to talk to Chuck at our monthly dinner at the Exempts. Charlie was a very good friend among our St. Paul Historians. I will miss seeing him there. He always had an encouraging word.
