My condolences to the Mongeon family on Don's passing. I have fond memories of Don working with the St. Joseph's Food Ministry where he selflessly gave of his time and efforts in helping to provide food to the less fortunate.
May the Lord hold him in his loving arms.

When I began my teaching career in 1972 in the Business Department of Penfield High School, Don was one of the first people to welcome me. He was always available to answer my questions, encourage me and brighten my day. He was a kind, positive and caring human being. He was full of joy and never failed to make everyone around him smile.
My heartfelt condolences to his wife, Mary Louise and his children. He loved you all so much. May your happy memories give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Mongeon’s passing. I took Distribution I and II from him at Penfield High ( I graduated in 1976) and so enjoyed him as a teacher. My brother Mark had him a year prior and enjoyed the class and liked him as a teacher and suggested I take the class. I signed up for the class and talked my best friend into taking it with me as well. I am not sure if I should admit this or not, but I was one of his teacher’s pets:) And the other classmates knew it too! Lol!
I hope it was because I took the class seriously (got straight A’s), showed him respect, and was also a religious person with high moral values. ( I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). He was so kind to me and I really enjoyed having him as a teacher. My friend and I won the Distribution Award and I can still recall how joyful Mr. Mongeon was as he presented it to me at the school’s award’s night, and how happy I was to receive it. I have thought of Mr. Mongeon many times throughout my life and wondered how he was doing. I am so glad to hear that he lived a long happy life and was married to his dear sweet wife for all those years. I too, have eight children and many grandchildren and know the importance of good family relationships. I enjoyed reading his obituary and learning many new things about him that I didn’t know, that has added more to my deep regard for him. My sincere condolences to his wife, family, and loved ones.

My prayers and thoughts are with all of his family. I worked with Don at PHS in the Business Dept. for years. His family was always his top priority. Don, was an amazing, loving, caring, person. He would do anything for you. When I first started working with Don he was always available to answer my questions and offer his help. God certainly has gained a true angel. May you rest in peace.
