Obituary of Colleen A. Armstrong
Colleen Armstrong died September 17, 2022 at age 55 after a long battle with auto-immune disease and a short battle with COVID. Colleen served with distinction with the Webster Central School District for the past 16 years. Beginning as a consultant teacher in 2006, she served as Director of Special Education, and most recently as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. In these roles, she initiated the district’s very successful One Webster Learning (OWL) program, Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) structure, and pioneered the district’s move toward Restorative Practices. Colleen loved vacations by the water, time spent with family, and the color purple. She celebrated and suffered for many years as a fan of the New York Giants. She had a great sense of humor along with gifts of kindness, empathy, and compassion. She is predeceased by her father, Harold Mumford and brother in-law, Jack O’Connor. Survived by her husband, Jack; son, Ryan; daughter, Emily; mother, Arden (Carmody) Mumford; sister, Laura O’Connor; brother, Craig Mumford; nieces and nephews.
