Obituary of Robert Howard Quinn, Jr.

Robert H. Quinn Jr. Born July 9, 1946. Passed away April 8, 2021 (74 years old), at home surrounded by family. Rochester, NY. Oldest son of Mae and Robert Quinn. Grew up in Rochester and Irondequoit. Attended St. Andrew and St. Ambrose parochial schools. Graduated in 1964 from The Aquinas Institute. Earned an AB in English from Boston College in 1968 and a JD from Boston College Law School in 1978. Served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1973 and in Vietnam from 1969-1970. Awarded a Purple Heart as a result of enemy action on August 7, 1969. Had a dual career as an attorney and as a financial professional. Elected to the Irondequoit Town Board in 1987. Appointed Clerk of the Monroe County Legislature in 1988. Served as County Legislator for Irondequoit in 1991. Lector and parish council member at St. Joseph's and Holy Spirit Churches. Author of two autobiographical novels: Abby and the Old Guy and Bonnie and the Young Guy, both available at Amazon.com.

 

Bob is survived by his beloved wife and "Sweetie," Barbara Brooks Quinn; two wonderful sons and their wives, Robert and Michelle, and Andrew and Debra; four cherished grandchildren, Mae, Robert IV, Lincoln and Henry; two brothers and their wives, Richard and Muriel, and Gary and Patricia; special sister-in-law, Marie Travaglini; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins; mother of his sons, Rozanne Marcus; seven decades of best friends from childhood, Aquinas, Boston College, the Air Force, and his legal, financial and political careers; his loyal and devoted Westie-Poo, Nicky; and "the one constant through all the years... baseball."
