Aunt Mary Ann spoiled us at every opportunity. I can still hear her voice, she had a quick wit, was always upbeat and warm, and our visits to Penfield are some of my fondest and most indelible memories of childhood.
I can remember adventuring off into the woods at the cottage without telling anybody, my mother frantically poking a long pole into the bottom of the lake, probing for my drowned body. When I eventually showed up, Mary Ann lightened things up with a wise crack, something about being back from the dead. She had a great laugh.
We'll miss her.

We were the only Wallace’s on the west coast, but Aunt Maryanne and Uncle John always sent us a generous Christmas gift card to JC Penney. It was the highlight of my season, and it made me feel so thought of and cared about!! As a parent I realize how much effort that really is! To remember to care for distant nieces and nephews every year, without fail! And so generous!
I was blessed to sneak up on conversations with my Aunt Sally and Aunt Maryanne over the recent years. My aunt would always give me a moment on the phone. And my memory is always of her chuckling, happy or giddy over her family. She was such a kind and modest woman, who loved her family well❤️♥️
It is a reminder to make time for those you love! Aunt Maryanne loved well.

My brother and I spent many wonderful summers with Aunt Mary Ann and Uncle John in Penfield . We swam in their above ground pool and played with their beagle ‘Frisbee’ who also lived to a ripe old age. I remember well driving up from Rochester to Thousand Islands where they had a cabin and spending a week there . That was the first time I ever water skied and I loved it ! My brother and I caught sun fish off the dock with old fishing poles and then threw them back in to watch them swim off . I was living with my family in Europe at the time and so we did not access to a lot of American stuff . On our visits to the states Aunt Mary Ann would take us to Wegman’s and tell us we could buy anything we wanted so we would pick up boxes of Fruit Loops and vats of peanut butter . She and her mother Florence came to visit us in Spain once and even though I was only 12 I sure had a good time showing them around and they really made me laugh! Aunt Mary Ann was very kind and cared a lot about her family and her extended family . Many good memories of her forever engraved in my mind . I shall miss her .

To The Wallace Family,
I have sweet memories of Mary Ann. We didn't see each other often but when we did we would chat about anything and everything. Usually, we ended up talking about our pets. She was an animal lover too. Rest in peace Mary Ann, you will be missed.

Your mom was very important to us as well. She had such deep connections to both of my parents. And the trust and mutual admiration was something to behold.
More recently, her leadership in the effort of settling my Pop's estate was amazing.
Years ago, when I visited or even when I worked at my father's office, Mary Ann always put me at ease. She was so easy to talk to, despite my being a pretty uptight kid.
Imprinted on my memory are her big eyes, filled with warmth, intelligence and humor. (In addition, I very much appreciated her commitment to maintaining a large supply of chocolate coffee nibs.)
My father really lucked out when your mom came to work in his office.
You and your family will be in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear of Mary Ann's passing. She was a wonderful neighbor to me when she lived in North-Ponds Apartments. She shared her delicious desserts and other meals with me, and was always available to share a laugh and conversation. I missed her when she moved away, and still miss her bright laugh and her views on life. My daughter-in-law, Kathy Putnam, and I were planning to see her, but Covid-19 stood in the way. I'm so sad that I didn't get to see her again, and want the family to know that I treasured my friendship with her.

Aunt Mary Ann and Uncle John were wonderful people and I was blessed to have them in my family. Growing up the holidays at their house were wonderful times and some of my best childhood memories. All my love to my cousins who I miss.

Mary Ann was the mother of all the Wallace Clan. She had a good mind and always gave all of us good advice. I wish we had followed that advice more. She loved my brother, John and the two of them were a good team. Mary Ann and John have left a big family who will remember them for many generations. It’s with a heavy heart that I say good bye to my sister-in-law, Mary Ann. Sally and Aldo
