So sad to hear of Phil's passing, but I am sure he well deserves his rest, because I don't think he got much of it. I just told my husband that Phil was the definition of a fine human being. He was kind and supportive of me and had the greatest smile. I knew him for 30 years, while being the pastor of the Baptist Church in ER, and while selling coffee for the Coffee Connection at the Immanuel Baptist Church jazz concerts. He and Elsa were always searching for ways to help people and I will always remember when Elsa and I teemed up to attempt helping someone. It's sad to see yet another role model and mentor go, but I know all of us have been blessed by him and his ministry. Farewell, dear friend. Don't forget to pray for us!!
