Dear Mary,
I offer my sincere condolences on the death of your "exceptional" mother. It seems that she could be the model of an intellectually curious person. May God bless you and your family.

Vera has a steadfast place in all of my memories of church. Her spirit and zest for helping people was almost palpable. We are better for having known her, and her absence is already felt. Wishing peace and good memories to her family and friends as we all grieve and remember.

I remember visiting the family at the lake cottage and cousin Vera would always let me have a second piece of chocolate cake, even if my mom said no. She was so smart and so insightful. She will be missed by many.

My deepest condolences to the whole Powley family. I have so many wonderful memories of Vera, Will and the whole family growing up on Conesus Lake, she was a wonderful women who always opened her home to everyone that visited. She used to laugh because for as many years as I knew her I always called her Mrs. Powley instead of Vera. I think it was more of a term of endearment because she had my utmost respect even as a child. Even though I live out of state, I will always have great memories that she will always be a part of. God Bless the entire family.
