I first met Ernest at the Y. Along with our first meeting, were my two young granddaughters, who were 7 and 9. Ernest was wonderful and patient with them.
His voice mellowed them and drew their attention to listening to him speak.
I have many fond memories of Ernest and cherish them I will. RIP Ernest and
thank you for being part of our lives at the Y.
I never saw Ernest without a smile on his face or without time to stop and chat with me. We had many conversations in the pool where he was eager to share his love of family, fishing and art, and never had an unkind word. I was totally unaware of what a remarkable life he led. The world needs more Ernests!
Sorry for your loss. I met Ernest at the y pool, when he first started taking swim lessons about 6 years ago. I admired his ambition and determination, but mainly his constant smile. The picture truly represents him. What an accomplished man! Be proud!
