Obituary of Lawrence C. Phillips
Penfield: January 9, 2019 at the age of 92. Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, and his three brothers, Leonard, William and Ronald. Survived by his 3 children, Steve, Diane (Max) and Rick (Kim) Phillips; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny) Lindner, Kevin (Rachel) Lindner, Catherine (Garrett) Blondell, Sean Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. Born October 19, 1926 to Victor parents Edward and Elsie Phillips. Larry worked at Kordite and Mobil Chemical for 35 years, proud of his engineering project achievements for the company. Larry was an active member of the Penfield United Methodist Church for 55 years. He was an avid golfer, but known even more for his tireless running, which he continued almost daily for over 45 years. His fondest running memories included his family: running the Chicago Marathon with his daughter in 1983, and running the Fairport Firecracker 5 in 2006 (at age 80) with all his children and grandchildren. Larry was a loving husband, a faithful father, and a cheery presence to all who knew him.
