Obituary of Margaret H Carney
December 19, 2016. Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, William; her sister, Virginia and her brothers, Jack and Thomas. Peggy is survived by her children, David (Barbara), Stephen (Laurie), James and Kathleen (David) Dyer; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Carney, Michael (Courtney) Carney and Emily Dyer; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Carney, Benjamin Carney and Rachel Carney. Peggy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 18, 1925. She worked as a secretary during World War II and volunteered at a local hospital caring for wounded soldiers. Peggy was a stay-at-home Mom who enjoyed cooking, music and vacationing in the Adirondacks. Peggy was a gentle, loving, generous person who appreciated any kindness she received. The Carney family is grateful for the loving care that Peggy received during her 5 year stay in the Memory Care Center of The Friendly Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 30, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers kindly consider donations to The Memory Care Center at The Friendly Home, 3156 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14618 or the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
