Obituary of Mabel E. Shairer

Mabel E. Shairer (Smith) of Irondequoit passed away December 6, 2016. Mabel was born on February 1, 1921 in Holley, New York, the daughter of the late William H. and Mary P. Smith. Her husband, Oscar G. Shairer, and her eight brothers and sisters predecease her. Her sister-in-law, Nancy C. Shairer of Fairport, and other relatives in the Smith and Shairer families survive her. She is a graduate of the Bryant and Stratton Business School and was employed for many years as a legal secretary at Harris Beach, LLP. She also served as the financial secretary for the late U.S. Senator, the Honorable Kenneth B. Keating. Mabel was an avid golfer and was a member of Locust Hill Country Club. No prior calling. Mabel's Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday 10AM at St. Ann's Chapel, 1500 Portland Avenue. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery.
