Dear family of Jan -- I have known Jan as a friend whom I worked with for some 26 years on the Women's Service Board at FBH. She was just a wonderful person and a good friend to many. I was so sorry to read of her passing and wish to extend my sympathy to you all as you celebrate her life and mourn her loss. I was not able to attend her service today and had no other way to get in touch, so hope this will help. Blessings, Nance

I remember meeting Mrs. Tietge for the first time on our first trip home to Linda's when we were in college at Brockport. I remember a very warm and friendly lady who was very welcolming to this group of strangers. But we settled into the easy chairs in the family room with our diet pepsi's and always felt welcome. Over time it seemed like she was my Rochester mother. Over the years we developed more of a friendship. She was a very special lady who will be greatly missed especially by her daughters Linda and Sue and families. Buut at least you all have a very close family and alot of wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. She will be missed at our lunches at Panera's when we visit. Love, Mona

Mrs. Tietge was the mother of my best friend growing up, so I spent a lot of time with her. She was always so warm and welcoming. She told me she I was like a daughter to her and she was like a second mother to me. She and my mother played bridge together and we all attended First Baptist together. When my father fainted and I had my young son with me, I knew I could count on her to watch him while we went to the hospital. She would always ask about my husband and family. That was what was so special about her, she always put others first. I know she loved her family and she will be sorely missed by each of them. My hear goes out to you, Linda and Sue. I know how important she was to each of you . It will be an adjustment not having her with you in person but I know you have many wonderful memories. Remember those fondly. Love and hugs to you and your families. Nancy
