Obituary of Marcella S. Taillie

Marcella S. Taillie, 82, of Rochester, devoted wife of Gordon P. Taillie for 57 years, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Friendly Home in Rochester. Marcella was born in Rochester on August 23, 1933 to the late Charles and Madeline [Hanna] Scherer. In addition to her husband, Marcella is survived by her children Sheila [Nathan] Brightman of Rochester and John [Robin] Taillie of Southington, Connecticut, her sister Rita Tschiderer of Valley Center, California, her grandchildren Amber Knox (David Rapp), Ashley [Justin] Jagoda, Darren Taillie, Tara Taillie and Casey [Kathryn] Taillie, her step-grandchildren, Matthew (Tammy) Brightman, Julia (Derek) Sulli, Elizabeth Brightman, and Angela (Chris) Marmo, brother-in-law Karle Schlemmer of Rochester, cousin Geri [Robert] Gobeli of Livonia, NY, great-grandchildren Khaliya Marcella, Sage Hanna, Kenzi, Zachary, Maya, Jordan, Jackson, Samantha, Rylie and Charlie, several nieces and nephews and special friend Elaine "Karney" Hallet of Fairport. In addition to her parents, Marcella was predeceased by her sisters Madelyn Schlemmer, Dorothy and her husband Earl Kear, Mary and her husband David Tschiderer, brother Robert Scherer, brother-in-law Charles Tschiderer, nephew Michael Tschiderer and special friends Virginia "Ginny" Greco and Betty Jean Martin. There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 2617 East Avenue in Rochester on Saturday, February 20, beginning at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at Shadow Lake Clubhouse Restaurant, 1850 Five Mile Line Road in Penfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road in Penfield. The family wishes to thank the staff and administration of the Friendly Home, 3156 East Avenue in Rochester for their compassionate caregiving and Marcella's loving aide and companion "Titi" Popoola.
