Obituary of Rita T. DeSalvo

Rita DeSalvo of Rochester, formerly of Clinton Park, NY passed away September 30, 2015 at age 89. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 40 years, Nicholas; sisters, Betty and Fay. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Carrie) DeSalvo; daughters, Susan (Jim) Owens and Dolores (John) Tedesco; sister, Dorothy Arato; brother, Stanley Liberatore; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Rita will be remembered as a keen observer of life, blessed with spunk and a quick wit. She and her husband, Nick were proud of their Italian heritage as first generation Americans. Nanny had a strong bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special fondness for her friends at the Rochester Presbyterian Home (RPH) especially the "It Takes Two" family and her friends and table mates, June and Evelyn. Rita's family would like to extend their greatest appreciation for the love and care provided to her in her 7 year stay at RPH. Rita's life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service at the Rochester Presbyterian Home, 256 Thurston Road, Rochester 14619 on October 19th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rochester Presbyterian Home.
