Melissa, Ian and Riley:
Dear Melissa: You and Tom are so much a part of my collective memories of childhood. We shared Baird Road Elementary school, Denonville Middle School and, finally, Penfield High School. I knew in High School that you and Tom were a great team. I am so sorry our world and your family does not have Tom. I am happy that I was able to call you and Tom friends and I will always remember his wonderful passion for life and his family.

To the Palmer family. I had worked with Tom in the IT training field. I did not know him that well, but I do remember his sense of humor, and quick wit. Any time we had a conversation, I always went away with a laugh and smile on my face. I'll just bet he was wonderful husband, father and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God Bless.

Melissa, Ian and Riley: Tom had a lot of passion. The more you cared about something the more he took it upon himself to support your efforts. He was a caring person. He sat with our son, Matt, and together they evaluated a valuable life lesson that Matt had experienced under Tom's watch. He tried to do what was right. He had broad shoulders and would express his thoughts in defense of his players. Once settled, he clapped his hands, and everyone was to move forward. When Matt had his accident, Tom would always remember to ask about him, or speak to Matt directly. Tom was a good man and you need to remember how his life impacted so many around him. Clap your hands in remembrance and carry on knowing he is always with you.

I read of your loss, and would like to offer my condolences. A short time ago, I lost a member of my family to cancer and I understand the grief and sorrow that you and your family are feeling at this time. Although words cannot fill the emptiness of your loss, I would like to share with you the promise stated at John 5:28,29. " ALL those in the memorial tombs will hear his(JESUS)voice, and come out to a resurrection of life.." May I assure you, I am not trying to give or change your religion. The pain of loss is felt, regardless of religion. May you be strengthened by friends and family through this VERY DIFFICULT time.

I remember how when I began to work for the Town of Penfield how Tom went out of his way to help me adjust to my new role with the Recreation Department. I will never forget how much he helped me, how positive he was and that wonderful smile of his. He had such a wonderful way about him and was such a great role model for so many young people. He will be missed but never forgotten. You are in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers.
