Obituary of William Francis Alvut

William F. Alvut of Fairport passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 10, 2011. Bill is survived by his wife, Sue Clifford Alvut; children, Douglas (Nancy) Alvut, Jennifer (A.J.) Handler, Laura (Todd) Harrington, Karen (Brian) Hoody, Katie (Chris) Kantz and Megan (John) Papponetti; grandchildren, Caroline, Tom and Elizabeth Alvut, Nicholas Handler, Nina (Trevor) Hyland, Will and Kate Harrington, Maeve and Ryne Hoody, Danny and Molly Kantz and Grace Papponetti. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lynne. Bill graduated from SUNY Oswego and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from RIT. He was a teacher for more than 20 years, contractor and master carpenter. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Thursday 4-7 PM and Friday 7-9 PM. Bill's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 15 St. Mary's Place, Rochester. Private interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Penfield.
