Obituary of John T. Miles

John T. Miles of Penfield passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at age 65, with his wife and children by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Kathleen Miles. John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia; daughters, Andrea Muir and Ashley Miles; 2 grandchildren, Colin and Katie Muir; sister, Mariann (Joseph) Consiglio; mother-in-law, Pauline Silfies; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews, including god-son Joseph Consiglio Jr. and Jennifer Brockett. John graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1964 and entered Bainbridge Military Academy. In 1965, he was appointed by Congressman Frank Horton to the US Naval Academy. Upon graduating he was assigned as an Ensign aboard the US Nautilus, a nuclear power submarine in Plymouth, Scotland. Upon retirement from the Navy, John was recruited by Ford Motor Company and recently retired from First Cardinal Insurance Company. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Thursday 4-7PM. John's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield.
