Obituary of Patricia A. Robinson

Patricia A. Robinson of Penfield passed away May 31, 2011. Patricia was born on October 25, 1933 in Troy, NY to Marion A. Cowen and the Rev. Walter Cowen. She graduated from East High School in 1951 and went on in 1955 to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. Pat had been an active volunteer all of her life. She headed up the candy drive for Campfire USA for all of Monroe County. She tutored Fairport Junior High School students in reading and mathematics, volunteered at the soup kitchen at the former Saints Peter and Paul Church and organized the drivers for Meals on Wheels. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pittsford, NY, where she was a member of the Dorcas-Rachel Circle Women's group and where she donated her hand knit baby sweaters. After raising her children, Pat returned to work as a bookkeeper at the Neighbor Housing Services of Rochester. In recent years she had spent winters at Ocean Gallery in St. Augustine, FL. Pat was a truly gifted organizer who would work diligently behind the scenes to coordinate activities and get-togethers for family, friends, relatives and neighbors. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, traveling, outdoor living and bridge. Patricia is survived by her husband, William A. Robinson of Penfield, NY; her brother, Richard W. Cowen of Allentown, PA; her three children, Lawrence W. Robinson, Alice M. Robinson and Tracy A. Kane; her three grandchildren, Eli W. Robinson, Lauren E. Kane and Edward D. Kane. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Patricia Friday 10 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28 Lincoln Ave., Pittsford. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 363, Pittsford, NY 14534.
