Judy Breckenridge

Obituary of Judy Ann Breckenridge

Judy Ann Ellis Breckenridge of Penfield NY died unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 11, 2011. Judy carried irrepressible energy and collected a following of friends and animals wherever she went. Even in adversity, Judy laughed and looked forward. She was the face of her husband's medical practice, which she organized and ran. She enjoyed fly-fishing, skiing and she knew how to use a gun. In her community, Judy appeared as a Girl Scout Leader, art teacher, pet therapy volunteer, and even the Easter Bunny. In the past several years, a big piece of her heart belonged to Shepherd Home, where she volunteered. Judy's children called her home "The Breckenridge Inn", and there was always room for one more at her table. It is Judy's wish that people not mourn her death, but celebrate the times they shared with her. Judy is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Robert T. Breckenridge. Judy is survived by three daughters, Jeniphr Breckenridge, Amie Breckenridge and Col. Sara Breckenridge-Sproat; sons-in-law, Mark Lanning, Dan Farrance and Col. David Breckenridge-Sproat; grandchildren, Breckenridge and Jackson Lanning, Lindsie and Alexandra Farrance; and many dear friends both two and four footed. Friends are welcome to visit the family Monday (TODAY) from 6-8 PM at 43 Granite Dr., Penfield. A Memorial Service for Judy will be held on Tuesday, March 15th 10:00am at Penfield Presbyterian Church, 1881 Jackson Road, Penfield. Donations in Judy's memory may be directed to Shepherd Home, 1959 Five Mile Line Road Penfield NY 14526.
