Obituary of Michael Mandrick

Michael Mandrick of Penfield was born April 28, 1924 in Tresckow, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at age 86. He was predeceased by his sisters, Olga and Catherine and his brother, Frederick. Michael is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen; daughter, Mary Ann (Dr. Robert) Frank and son, Michael John (Judy) Mandrick; grandchildren, William Michael Frank and Bethany Ann (Thomas) Zorc; one sister, Sophie (Lester) Hort and many nieces and nephews. Michael served in the U. S. Navy SeaBees Division during WWII. Upon discharge, he moved to Rochester and was employed by Eastman Kodak until his retirement in 1983. He was a long time member of St. Joseph's Church and served as an usher. He also enjoyed ushering at the GEVA and Auditorium Theaters. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed listening to short-wave radio and communicating with other enthusiasts around the world. He never missed watching the Buffalo Bills, Boston Red Sox and Syracuse Orangemen games on television. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, Sunday 2-4 PM. Michael's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield. Interment will take place in Hazleton, PA. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a charity of your choice in Michael's memory.
