Obituary of Ida Joyce Rozanov

Ida Joyce (McChesney) Rozanov passed from this life peacefully at age 51, surrounded by her adoring family and mother on August 14, 2010 after an intense 17 month battle with colon cancer. Ida is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 19 years, Nicholas; beloved sons, Alexander age 15 and Victor age 13; mother Joyce M. McChesney MD; brothers, Irvin and Paul (Margaret); nieces, Ida and Elizabeth; nephews, Chris and Cuyler; her "favorite mother-in-law, Maria "BB" Rozanov and brother-in-law, George. Born in California, her family returned to the Rochester area when she was four. She attended Allendale Columbia, St Agnes, MCC and graduated from St. John Fisher. Her travels have taken her across America, the Caribbean, France, Italy, Sweden, Austria and Russia. Ida enriched her life with her family, friends, reading, movies and several careers during her sadly shortened life. Ida was truly one of the nicest people you could have known and will be terribly missed. A memorial service and celebration of Ida's life will be held Saturday August 21st at 11:00am at Shadow Lake Golf Club. A reception will follow until 3:00pm. Photos and stories are encouraged. Ida's cremated remains will be interred in the Adirondack Mountains in a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider Highland Hospital Hospice or American Cancer Society.
