Obituary of Carolyn K Burke

Carolyn Burke of Webster formerly of Elmira, She was born July 27, 1922 and died June 23, 2010 at age 87. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, James L. Burke, Esq. Carolyn was raised in Maplewood, NJ, a graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn NY. She also earned a Masters Degree in Nursing later in her career. Carolyn is survived by her children, Carol (Frank) Volpini, Prudence Taylor, Martha (Ricardo) Wilson, Deborah Brown, James L. Burke, Jr. and Philip (Sharon) Burke; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Carolyn and her husband made Elmira NY their home for almost 60 years. She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira and was an instructor for several years in the LPN Program at BOCES, Chemung County. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, Monday June 28th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A memorial mass for Carolyn will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 10th 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Elmira.
