Obituary of W. Eric Buchanan

W. Eric Buchanan of Penfield passed away May 25, 2010. He was born May 28, 1920. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred in 2005, two grandsons, Brandon on 9/11/01 and Cameron on 7/21/2007. Eric is survived by his sons, Brian (Patricia), Ronald and Keith (Kerry); sister, Thelma Pigage; brother, Ian (Joyce); granddaughters, Lindsay, Kelsey and Rachel. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He served in WW II in the Seebees Division of the Navy, stationed in the Philippines. He proudly worked for Rochester Products Division of General Motors for over 30 years. He also taught at Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College. He volunteered for many years at the Fairport Public Library and delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years. Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Thursday 4-6 PM, where a brief Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WXXI of the Fairport Public Library in his memory.
