George gave me the privillege of sharing in some of his most joyful moments as we drove to and from the Nine Mile day hab or to the main office for his regular visits with the administration team. George loved to run erands, especially shopping for supplies! On these rides, George would ask me to turn on Legends 102.7, and he would sing along and laugh and just have fun!I am truly blest that George honored me by allowing me to share in his life. I can only say, "Thank you", George!

To my brother George, you were not only a brother but a very special brother to us. You always had that special smile when we came to see you. And how you laughed when we would mention broccoli or a beer and a cigar. Joking around with you was such fun. What a sense of humor you had. Love You Jim & Mary

Although I only knew George for about 6 months, he still was able to make a lasting impression on my heart. My favorite memory of George is that everytime I would stop over on Friday mornings to eat breakfast with the guys...when it came time for me to leave, George would insist on having someone assist him so that he could open the door for me! He was a true gentleman and his kind heart will never be forgotten!

I remember the first time I met George was at Klem Rd day hab. It was lunch time and the staff asked if anyone would like to pray. George immediately began by saying the Lords Prayer. Every time I hear that now, I will think of him and his great smile. George will be missed by everyone at Heritage.

George welcomed me to Heritage Christian Services 23 years ago with warmth and humor. He was looking for a new hat at the time. George made each person he met feel valued and loved. I will never forget George throwing that Frank Sinatra CD on his friend NC tray. He said, "I am being romantic" with a smile on his face! I will never forget George at the hospital saying, "I want to tell you something" and so leaned over and he whispered, "I love you Diane"
That is just who George is. I will keep his spirit in my heart and always be inspired by my friend, who will always be remembered as a gentleman and a scholar! I love you George and will miss you dearly!

It has been a pleasure to know George over the past thirteen years. George will be missed at at the 9:30 mass at Spiritus Christi. The enthusiasm and joy he brought through his song was always something I looked forward too. I particularly remember the standing ovation he received when he sung "How Great is Our God". It brought a smile and tears to many faces. I first met George over ten years ago at Corpus Christi when my three and five year old daughters would hold his hand during the "Our Father" and then helped push him out of church in his wheelchair. They loved their job and George always had a smile to give them in return. It helped them learn the diversity of the human race and the unique gifts that we all have to offer. I will fondly remember joking with George about his baseball caps, dark sun glasses, and Barry Manilow. While there will be an empty spot on the stage at mass, his spirit will remain in many hearts.
