Obituary of Christine Spooner

Christine D. Spooner (born Danielson) 57, killed by a fall on Skellig Michael, Ireland. A loving wife, mother, sister and friend to so many, she touched countless lives with her kindness, wisdom and zest for life. A deep and thoughtful woman, she was blessed with immense curiosity and openness. With a warm smile, she could also find ways to lighten nearly every moment, including silly songs and different outfits for every holiday. She possessed a willingness to open her own heart, and the compassion to listen deeply to the hearts and needs of others. She was a therapist by profession and worked for the past 24 years at Catholic Family Center. She is survived by her husband, Rich; her children, Matthew and Mary; her sister, Mary Beth Fiasconaro and her husband, Mark; her brother-in-law, Robert and wife Martha; her sister-in-law, Jean and husband, Kim; nephews, Daniel, Stephen and Justin; niece, Laura and her loving dog, Lexie (the subject of many of her silly songs). In lieu of flowers, Chris and her family would appreciate donations to Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center, Catholic Family Center or Bethany House, all of Rochester. Calling Hours will be Monday 2:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd. Services will be Tuesday 4 PM at Spiritus Christi Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh.
