I met John and Karen through the Hokensons and I helped them with their home in Pittsford and continued on with John when he lost Karen to her cancer. I visited Karen at Advent House the day before she passed away and I last saw John at the Heritage the day before he passed too. I had my chance to say good-bye to both of them. John was a wonderful man and told me many stories while I helped him clean his condo. He loved his computer room and we always joked he would get it organized someday so I could get in there to dust! He often spoke of his children and grandchildren...I knew his daughter lived in Syracuse and had a cat and his son and daughter-in law in Vermont had a daughter and twin boys. He enjoyed their visits! I often heard about Eric and his wife and their boys starting college and their daughter,a great swimmer. He loved them all. So in closing I just want to say farewell to a good man and tell him that someday I will get to some of the wonderful places he often talked about and showed me numerous photos of....Norway, France etc. Rest in Peace John.
