John was a wonderful friend. He was also an outstanding coworker. He had the best qualities. He was kind, loyal, naturally funny, generous and open. He had so many friends in the lab and his good nature brought happiness to many people. I am so grateful to have known him and spent the time with him that I did. I missed him when I moved away and I miss him now. He was truly a very special person.
