Obituary of Patricia L Katafiaz

Cherished mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Patrica Louise Katafiaz passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Aaron Manor Nursing Center in Fairport, NY, at the young age of 89. Born in Rochester, NY, on August 25,1935, to Harold and Emily (Salyerds) Groh, she was raised with one sister surrounded by humor in the warmth of a loving family. 

Patricia leaves behind her three children, Brian (Regina) Katafiaz, Mark (Judy) Katafiaz, Dana (John) Neverla; seven grandchildren, Rochelle (Dave) Allen, John (Christina) Neverla, Dana Katafiaz, Lena Katafiaz, Renee’ (Evan) Orlando, Tayler and Kylee Denney; three great grandchildren, Ashton and Adrien Allen and Emma Katafiaz, many nieces and nephews and her sister, Mardene (Groh) Beardsley.

She took great pride in watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren perform in dance recitals, play baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading and tell their stories. She leaves a legacy of wisdom, humor, warmth and love, and she will be forever missed.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the Jennings Nulton and Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, NY 14526 on December 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Private interment will be immediately following.  

In lieu of flowers the family has requested monetary donations to the Aaron Manor Nursing Center, Unit 300 at 100 St. Camillus Way in Fairport, NY 14450 in Memory of Patricia L. Katafiaz for their unwavering, exceptional care and support during her stay.
