When I met Rose as a twenty-something teacher, she was at an age when most teachers retired. I was always impressed by her boundless energy and enthusiasm towards her job and students! A wonderful example of "The Greatest Generation", Rosie taught me much about service to others and has influenced me to this day. I'm not sure how the next life works Rosie but I wouldn't be surprised to see you leading a Heavenly aerobics class. I am so fortunate that you touched my life.

I met Rose when I was a new head secretary at NRCS and was very unsure of myself. Rose was always making me laugh, and encouraging me. When my daughter was a student at Aquinas and was doing her community service she was doing meals on wheels and I was so surprised when Rose came romping in the door. In about a minute she had everyone there smiling and laughing. Rose was in a class by herself!

I worked with Rose at NRCS in the PE department for many years. She was a dedicated teacher and was a pleasure to work with. She was always happy and she had her devilish side. One of my memories of her was she loved to sneak up behind me and yank the hairs on the back of my legs.

Rosie was always one of the perkiest people you could ever hope to meet, and she loved to smile. She touched many lives and will always be remembered.

I first me Rose in the early 1980s when I worked at Highland hospital. What a delightful person, energetic, with optimism that was contagious. Little did I know that we were both members of St. Joseph's parish in Penfield where I saw her every Saturday at the 5 pm Mass where I distributed Communion to her and other parisoners.
She was truly an inspiration to everyone in everything she did. She definitely taught me how to live and be thankful for every day. I know she will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time of loss. Linda Luchetti, RN

I met Rosie when I began teaching at Interim Junior High in 1979. Rose convinced me to join the women’s bowling team and she got a kick out of drawing what she called “horse balls” on my score sheet. A group of us always went out to dinner after bowling where Rose continued to keep us laughing. Thanks to her, I won the most improved trophy that year. After I retired in 2010, I moved to Allen’s Creek Valley where I was delighted to discover that Rose was my next door neighbor. She loved to “kibbutz” while I worked in my garden. When she claimed to have walked ten miles a day, I didn’t believe her until I saw her miles from home. She always refused a ride. When she moved to Baywinde and then the Batavia Veterans Home, I missed her: her positivity, humor, and spirit. She truly was one of a kind.

Rose was one of the first hired teachers at the City School District's old Interim Junior High School on Prince St., in 1971. She was a real character, whom the students & staff loved because of her energy, creativity, humor, encouragement and kindness with all her students. She was fair, strict at times, but also loving. I had not seen her for several decades and was pleased to see that she lived a long, exciting, adventurous life. What a great lady & role model for kids & adults!
