Joe was my Uncle. I called him Uncle Joe. My best memories of him and my aunt Barbara were when they visited Westland to see my mom, Elaine, who was Barbara's sister. They would travel from New York to Michigan every other year or so. He loved to eat at The Big Fish. It was an upscale Joe Muer restaurant that specialized in fresh fish. I would often join them if I was available. Joe was quite witty and a good conversationalist. I enjoyed his company. I recall another time when I took them to Canada to view the 4th of July fireworks from that side of the Detroit River. Joe was a trooper. Joe will be missed and the world has lost a "good guy".
