Obituary of John Douglas Fisler
Doug left this world on Oct 6. Survived by Gloria, his wife of 63 years; sons, Glenn, Scott (Catherine) and Craig (Michele) Fisler; beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nathan) Cook, Brent, William, Jacob (Vivian) and Benjamin Fisler; great grandchildren, Addison, Lily and Maddox; sister, Jeannette. Predeceased by parents, Harry and Ada Fisler; brother, Franklin (Shirley) Fisler.
Born in Trenton, N.J., Doug was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, graduate of Lafayette College and valued employee of Eastman Kodak Company. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, teaching English as a second language to adults, and volunteering at agencies serving the developmentally disabled and schools attended by his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Nov 16 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Penfield, 1862 Penfield Rd., Penfield, NY. Those wishing may contribute in Doug’s memory to Heritage Christian Services, Inc. 275 Kenneth Dr. Suite 100, Rochester, N.Y. 14623
