Obituary of Roger D Boas
August 4, 2024. Husband, dad, papa, grandpa, brother, our hero.
Eastman Kodak Co., Research Lab Engineer, stock car driver, Perinton ambulance volunteer, Fairport school bus driver.
Roger is predeceased by father, Donovan Boas, and mother, Edna Boas; He is survived by wife, Carol; daughters, Jennifer Hartmann, Jackie (Carl) Gigliotta, Jolene (Matt) Carotenuto; grandsons, Jon Carlo, Samuel Roger, Dylan Josue and Ethan Everett; brother, Keith (Carol Anne) Boas and his beloved dog,Charlie; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
He was a lover of stock cars, Civil War history, true country music and puttering in the garage. An expert welder and gifted engineer; with just a sketch, Roger would build a roll cage for a race car, a trailer for his log splitter or a bed for our dog. With a pile of bricks he claimed from a demolished building in the village of Fairport, he built a family room, fireplace and outdoor BBQ from the ground up.
Some of his favorite phrases live close to our hearts. “Prit near”, “write if you get work”, “How are you fixed for socks and underwear?”, “How would you know? How would anybody know?” “Nice country America”.
We love you so much and will miss you always.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9 from 3-5 pm at Harloff Funeral Home, 803 S. Washington Street, East Rochester, where a prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Interment will be private for the family at White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in Roger’s honor to Perinton Ambulance or Lollypop Farm.
