Sunday, July 28, 2024. Survived by his wife, Margaret (McStravick), daughters, Lisa Fred (Jon), Megan De Risio (Richard), and Marla; sister, Jill; grandson, Jason Fred, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends in the Irish music community. Predeceased by his brother, Larry.


Lynn was born on December 9, 1935 to Leonard and Maryalice Slack Pilaroscia in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Cornell University in 1959 and served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1964, followed by years-long service in the Reserves. Lynn belonged to Braman American Legion Post #1229 for many years. He joined his family’s insurance business in 1968 and was its President/Owner for more than 50 years until he retired in 2020. He was a long-time resident of Penfield, New York, and enjoyed skiing and playing musical instruments, especially the Irish fiddle.


Calling hours will be Thursday, September 26 from 4-7, with a service on Friday, September 27 at 10am at Jennings, Nulton, and Mattle, 1704 Penfield Road, followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Outreach Center, 447 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 or Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (CCE), 251 Drumcliff Way, Rochester, NY 14612.
