My memories of Dawn are limited but she played an important role with her help and support for my mom (Joanne), sister (Lynn), and I when our father was in Vietnam in 1969. During the time my father was away, my mother was busy working towards completing her nurses training at Newport (RI) hospital. Dawn (and Joe) were both instrumental in helping look after me and my sister at various times. Though I would not come to understand the significance or importance of this until later in my life, it relates directly to the kind of person and individual Dawn was. Recently, after many years, I was fortunate enough to meet with her again and visit briefly. To say that this visit meant a lot to me would be an understatement. She and my mom (who passed in 2018) were very close and I know they are both together now reminiscing about times shared together many years ago. Dawn will always have a special place in my memories of her support at a time when I did not understand the importance of her kindness and caring. My prayers and condolences now and always, to Joe, Sharon and her extended family.
Attached is a picture of 2243 West main Road in Portsmouth, RI. The significance of this picture will only have meaning to a few but represents much of what I refer to above.
