Obituary of John Robert Blaho

John Robert Blaho, a veteran of World War II and resident of Heathwood in Penfield NY, passed away on November 23, 2023. John, or Jack, as he was known to by many, was born March 5, 1928, to the late Dorothy Hampton and John Blaho in Flushing Queens, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. After the war, Jack returned home and met and married Clara Gatto on May 1st 1949.Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Clara, his sister, Barbara Blaho and grandson, Robert Blaho.

He is survived by his children, Laurence (Margaret) & David (Jennifer) Blaho and Barbara Grosch; grandchildren, Nicole (Justin) Triassi, Justine (Jason) Barr, Thomas (Kasandra) Blaho, Victoria (Corey) Mortimer, David John Blaho and Alyssa Grosch; great grandchildren, Landen & Olivia Triassi, Jameson, Jorden, Jaylene & Jocelyn Barr and Esmeralda Mortimer.
His family has organized a memorial service to honor Jack’s life and military service, which will be held at the Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, Inc in Penfield NY at a later date in the spring. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Dementia Society of America in Jack’s name.
