As a colleague of Johns over in the UK, I always enjoyed working with John, from his quick wit to expert skills. I would like to pass on my condolences to his family and let them know he had many friends here across the world and we will all miss him.

It's a silly thing to remember but...John was the person who told us we should buy tuna packed in olive oil, not water. What a great cook!!
Our deepest condolences.

We have fond memories of our friendship with John. Janette and I worked with him many, many years ago when we were all so much younger. He was always candid and honest with his quick comments about everything! We'd like to send our heartfelt condolences to Michelle and the entire Leone family. Our days at CCI will not be forgotten. Rest in peace John. -Lon and Janette Stadler

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I grew up across the street from the Leone’s in Commack, NY. We couldn’t have asked for better neighbors and friends. Barb, as John would jokingly refer to his mom, and Sonny, his father, were like second parents to me and my siblings. The entire family was with us through highs and lows of our lives. Although we haven’t seen or spoken in years, I was lucky enough to see John at his sisters wedding years ago. He was still the same sharp-witted, sarcastic yet funny John. Praying for the family for peace. May John rest in eternal peace.

I met John (aka “Big John”, aka “John John” and Michelle before they were "John and Michelle", back in CCI stockroom days of the late 70's and early 80’s, before marriages and mortgages and children, (and cell phones).
I don't remember exactly when we became good friends, but I do remember when John and Michelle finally got together, and it was the best thing to ever happen for John.
Over the years, thanks to Michelle, I’ve watched him change into the family man everyone knows. A good, no, an amazing, husband, father and grandfather who would do anything for his family and friends. I don’t think there was anything he could not do. Whenever I needed anything, he would not hesitate, always there for me. And of course, his incredibly sarcastic sense of humor that you better be ready for, because he would not hold back.
We had so many good times. Having a blast even while digging post holes for decks, in freezing rain or in 90 degree heat. So many crazy things we used to do, we would laugh so hard my stomach would hurt for days.
And now my heart hurts. I never told him I loved him, (manly guys just don’t do that, maybe we should), but I hope he knew that I did. My best friend is gone too soon. I will miss him forever.

I'm at a loss for words but wanted to contribute. John was an amazing husband to my sister, amazing father and grandfather, and a very hard worker that was always there to help when needed. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and so many friends. RIP JOHN

Hello. If this is the John Leone who worked at Bausch & Lomb years ago, I was a coworker in the contact lens dept on N Goodman St. I know that that John Leonor’s wife was named Michèle and he was originally from the NY City area, I think Long Island. John was full of personality, one of the smartest guys I ever met, quick witted for sure plus a very good worker. I know he built decks as a side job, and spoke of his wife often and was a family man. It sounds like he did very well at Cooper Vision after our jobs went overseas. I always wondered what happened to him after B&L. I am sad to hear that his life was cut so short, God bless you all and may God keep him in His care, Heaven will be all the better with him there, he will be keeping the angels laughing for sure.
With fond memories.
