MICHAEL D OCONNELL posted a condolence

I just found out about Don's passing. We were co-captains of the 1969 Bishop Kearney NYS Catholic Wrestling Team. Don was a great wrestler, great teammate, and great co-captain on just a simply great championship wrestling team. I was able to share one of the greatest moments in my young life in walking across the gym at Cardinal Mooney High School with to accept that championship trophy. I was able to relive that moment again with Don at our 50th high school reunion a few years ago.
He will be missed.

As a wrestling coach it is easy to see quickly the character of each athlete. Don was one of those who possessed that character that every parent, coach and friend would love to be affiliated with. God bless. Terry Mather, Bishop Kearney wrestling.

Don was always one of my favorites. I have not seen Don in years and so proud that he followed his passion for Christ and became a Deacon. He was a pillar of the MONY family. Kathie and I send our prayers to Mary and the whole family. I’m away and cannot attend which pains me. Lou Bivona
